Saturday 2nd March

Heidi Talbot with John McCusker & Ian Carr     Support :Union Jill

SOLD OUT

Ireland has long been a fount of great female singers, but Heidi Talbot's breakthrough solo release, 2008's In Love + Light, swiftly assured her promotion to the premier league. Its artfully chosen mix of traditional and contemporary material, reinvented classics and little-known gems, and above all Heidi's's achingly bittersweet, spun-gold voice, won glowing reviews across three continents, a US Indie Acoustic Award and a Best Female Vocalist nomination in the Irish Music Awards. With critics mooting comparisons as diverse as Björk, Enya, Linda Ronstadt, Norah Jones and Kirsty MacColl, the album received widespread radio airplay. Heidi appears at Hepworth with partner and brilliant multi instrumentalist John McCusker and guitarist Ian Carr. Visit Heidi's website

Saturday 27th April

The Toy Hearts                               Support:Michael J Tinker

This Birmingham  based sister fronted outfit have been not-so-quietly carving out their own niche in the Americana and Roots music scene for a while now, so if you haven't been to one of their shows before you are in for a real treat. And, although it may seem improbable that two young women from the Midlands would have the ability to produce authentic and innovative Country music, you really should leave those pre-conceptions at the door.

One thing about The Toy Hearts is clear: their love for the music they play and the conviction of their delivery far exceeds any simple mimicry of American music. They manage to tip their hats to their influences from Bluegrass, Country and Swing, while making their own mark, and having their own distinct style, which is quite different to that of those whom inspire them. From the heartbreak in Hannah's voice, to her sister's take-no-prisoners guitar playing, to their father Stewart's multi instrumental talents, this unlikely trio demonstrate what it means to really want to  play this kind of music and truly love doing so. A superb & exciting end to our season.  Visit The Toy Hearts website
